“Dr Warren Lloyd, Associate Medical Director & Clinical Director for Mental Health & Learning Disabilities would like to assure the residents of West Wales that the Mental Health & Learning Disabilities services have undertaken significant Covid 19 planning to ensure that essential services continue to be delivered in a timely and effective manner, whilst adhering to governmental guidelines and advice.
Mental Health provision is designated an essential service for people of all ages and has been prioritised. All patients within secondary care will continue to have access to their Care Co-ordinators and / or staff designated to provide these essential duties. The mental health teams continue, where possible, to offer telephone and face-to-face assessments and interventions, whilst also accessing other virtual platforms to support those most in need of Mental Health & Learning Disability services.
We continue to review the current provision, and as part of the review we will be undertaking patient satisfaction surveys to further inform our response to the Covid-19 pandemic and our phased transition to the ‘new normal’ delivery of mental health services.
If any person has any specific concerns regarding their mental health care & treatment they should contact their respective care co-ordinator, local mental health team or the Health Board Patient Support Team.”
